Despite being called the “junior” bag, this bag can easily fit men’s gear and use all features. I bought this bag because I travel to the rink via public transit, walking, or occasionally bike. The size of the bag is perfect for players who are 5’8”, 150lbs. I wear a 6.5 skate, 12” gloves, 13” shin pads, 28” waist, small chest and shoulder pads. This bag has no problem fitting all of my gear with additional space. I believe players slightly larger could still use this bag, although shin pads larger than 15” may cause an issue, and skates larger than 7.5 may mean you can’t use the built in skate compartments.
I do have 1 criticism of the bag. And that’s the comfort of the shoulder strap placement. The top of the strap attaches to the “top” of the bag (when in backpack mode). This means you either have to loosen the straps for comfort on your neck while having the bag dangle to your quads, or tighten the straps so your legs don’t hit and have a very uncomfortable fit around your shoulder and neck. I think lowering the attachment point of the shoulder straps to allow the bag to sit higher would help. As well as redesigning the shoulder strap attachment so like a traditional backpack the strap goes up and over the shoulders instead of straight down them.
Overall the bag is great, compartments are fantastic, bag is rigid enough so you can see everything at once. The opening is large so you don’t have to rifle through your bag finding gear. The mesh bag is perfect size for under armor, socks, jersey, and jock. The material is thick and quality. The breathability is great so your gear can air out on commute home without stinking up your car. I can’t recommend this bag enough.
